TouchSafe - Helping you avoid contact with germs
If there’s one thing Covid19 has taught us, it’s that hygiene, especially hand hygiene, is very important. That’s why taking every necessary precaution to avoid spreading bacteria and viruses is more crucial than ever. So, what can you do if you’re faced with having to touch surfaces that you know are hotspots for germs like door handles and switches?
TouchSafe is a compact, lightweight and robust antiviral and antibacterial handguard that acts as a barrier between you and contaminated surfaces such as door handles, touchscreens, keypads, shopping trolleys, push chairs, light switches and buttons.
How does it protect you?
You may already have access to protective gloves and hand sanitiser but TouchSafe gives you an extra level of defence against the transmission of germs. Gloves protect your hands, but they don’t prevent you from transferring germs to your face, other people or surfaces in-between changing them.
TouchSafe acts as a physical barrier that you can have with you at all times, helping to protect and keep your hands clean. Our unique design is shaped to minimise surface contact with contamination by up to 80% compared to a hand. Made from HDPE polymer, TouchSafe also has antimicrobial properties which kill over 80% of bacteria in just 15 minutes and up to 99.99% in two hours.
Easy to use
TouchSafe comes with an easy clean wrist strap for carrying and minimising additional contact. And for those more on-the-go jobs, you have the added option of a retractable YoYo lanyard for frequent use.
TouchSafe is multi-functional. It works with most doors and types of handle in public, commercial private and healthcare settings. It has a conductive nib for use on touchscreens and keypads and a non-slip grip action for manoeuvring supermarket trolley. It is even easy to use for people with limited hand mobility.
To clean TouchSafe, give it a quick wash for a mere 20 seconds with soap and water or pop it in the dishwasher at the end of the day. Compact, lightweight, multi-functional and robust, TouchSafe is just the job to keep you safe when you’re on the go.
A Dr Bright Idea
TouchSafe was conceived by general practitioner, Dr Stephen Bright in response to the current Covid-19 outbreak. Dr Bright recognised a need for TouchSafe after observing how patients and healthcare colleagues touched the many door handles and surfaces in his surgery, with and without protective gloves and before and after access to hand sanitiser.
Thanks to further development by approved UK manufacturer of medical equipment, OGM, TouchSafe, made from robust HDPE polymer, with built-in BioCote® antimicrobial technology is now available to healthcare professionals, vulnerable groups and the general public.
